When Barcelona decided to let go of striker Luis Suarez at the end of last season, the Uruguay international forward was not the only one who did not welcome the idea. His then-Barcelona teammate, Lionel Messi was also not a fan of the decision but it ended up happening anyway. Suarez was told that he was no longer able to maintain a top form at the highest level and that he was too old to still lead the club's attack, and after putting him up for sale, Atletico Madrid were the club that agreed to pay his transfer fee.
He left the Camp Nou and linked up with Diego Simeone and has since established himself as the Madrid club's frontman. He would then go on to have a tremendous season with the Rojiblancos in which he has so far scored 20 League goals and on the verge of helping them seal the Spanish La Liga title as well.
Suarez's exit could the first of a couple more since last season, as Antoine Griezmann has continued to be linked with an exit from the Catalan giants. Griezmann has been the subject of intense transfer rumors and according to reports, he could be just another one of Messi's attacking partners who would be walking through the exit door at the club.
One major reason that has fueled the Griezmann exit rumors is the report that Manchester City striker Sergio Agüero has agreed a two-year deal to join Barcelona, meaning that the Argentine striker's arrival could hamper Griezmann's playing chances next season.
The France international forward has been linked with a return to Atletico Madrid and Italian Serie A giants Juventus have also been credited with an interest in the World Cup winner in case Cristiano Ronaldo leaves the Old Lady at the end of the season.
